What documents are required to get a NJ learner's permit?

A 16-year-old applying for a driving permit will need:

• Original passport or birth certificate (with raised seal)
• Proof of social security number
• Proof of passing the written exam; proof is usually a printed email with a bar code
• Vision exam, Can be completed in our office
• Payment in the form of either credit card or cash.
• Signatures of both the parent and student on our contract
• Completion of the state's permit application by both parent and student.
